Testimony - Sue Guzik

I was raised in a denominational church and can't ever remember not loving the Lord. I went to Sunday School and VBS faithfully, and I was thrilled when, in Kindergarten, I received my first Bible for memorizing the Ten Commandments!

Later, as a teen, I publicly affirmed my belief inf Jesus. I was a good kid and didn't get into trouble; I got good grades, helped people, and worked hard.

After we married, my husband and I went to a charismatic renewal course where we learned about yielding to the gifts of the Holy Spirit. After attending meetings where people gave their testimonies, I began to feel like "Gee, Lord, I don't have much of a testimony. I never did any of these things that many people left behind when they came to Calvary."

Then God spoke to my heart and told me to rejoice! Even though I didn't have the history they had, I understood that I needed the Savior every bit as much because all my "goodness" didn't measure up to His standards. I knew I was just as big a sinner as anyone else.

Without the Lord I don't think I could have survived the trials of my lifetime. It is His strength and the knowledge that He is always with me that have sustained me in difficulties and it is the joy I have in being assured of my heavenly home with Him that lifts my spirits! Knowing He has all things in His hands removes my fear.

What more can I want - I have it all as His child!
